If you've been around me, you probably know that I'm a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls games. So here's a thread for those like-minded of you to discuss them.
Want to relate anything amusing that's happened to you? Feel the need to argue how Game X is so much better than Game Y? Got a mod you want to brag about? Have a theory on where the next game will take place? Amused by how hilariously prescient the Dremora seem when you consider the trolls? Go crazy.

I would go crazy, but then I'd take an arrow to the knee.

only....
they had no heads!! I took pictures of it (uploads later) but it was funny as hell as it was a glitch that their heads suddenly disappeared

Oh, the glitches. I know the feeling.
The weirdest thing that's probably happened to me, glitch-wise, was when I was walking through Dragon Bridge and saw someone shoot an arrow at me out of the corner of my eye. I turned around and saw that I was being attacked by Solitude guards, so I killed them. And then I got charged for murder.
So let's review what's wrong with this picture.
1) They were attacking me for no reason at all. 2) When I clicked them, they were labelled "Imperial Soldier", despite the fact they were wearing Solitude guard outfits. 3) I got charged with murder for killing them despite the fact they attacked me first.
To this day, I have no idea what caused it, but it's probably the weirdest thing that's ever happened to me.

Are you involed in the Stormcloak rebelion? Because if you are, the guards at Dragonbridge are loyal to the Empire and if you are far enough along they will attack you.

Yes, I am a Stormcloak at this point.
Still don't get why it counts as a crime for killing them though. :/

When I played Oblivion, my initiation to the Dark Brotherhood got launched when I killed a scamp.
Because that's totally murder in cold blood. Yeah.

I remember in Skyrim, I was following some Quest NPCs along to a destination, when all of a sudden this massive dragon skeleton fell from the sky. It landed on the NPCs, clipping them through the landscape. So I couldn't complete the quest without reloading.
It gave me about ten straight minutes of laughing.

Y'know, this is probably heretical, but...I don't use Lydia. She hangs around in Dragonsreach all day in my game.
My housecarl of choice is Calder. I'm in Windhelm much more often than I'm in Whiterun, being a Stormcloak.
...don't kill me.

Once in Riften, I got a one gold bounty, and one of the guards told me I had to pay. I told her that we both didn't have time for it and she said fine, but other guards might not be so leinient. Then ten other guards, and the original guard attacked me. when it was over, my bounty was 11001 gold. I really should have just payed the one gold.

Fanboy rant time! Morrowind. Yeah, the combat, magic, and stealth systems sucked spectacularly. But remember the world? It was so rich and detailed to anyone that ever bothered to foray into it. It had its own unique landscape, culture, it even had its own religion! Did anyone else ever follow that? I joined the Temple and actually hunted down all the 36 Sermons of Vivec just to read them. And it's one of the few games I've ever seen with its own in-game politics. Great Houses, anyone? I've actually gone through three different playthroughs of the game just to finish all three. And the landscape, oh wow the landscape. I like the different feel each town had, and the different architecture style. Yes, I'm complimenting architecture. It was just unique, I personally have never seen anything like it. And the flora and fauna, just the same. I still think they should've kept a count for how many cliff racers you killed, which I'm sure after a few hours of playing numbers in the hundreds. Goddamn lizard birds. Don't get me wrong, I love Oblivion and I love Skyrim. But the Romanesque and Norse feel that each one gives doesn't really seem to compare to the rich and vibrant world that Morrowind introduced us too. I remember my time as the Nervarine quite fondly, mostly because it was the first game I ever played for the Xbox. It gave me countless hours of entertainment, and I can't wait for the Dragonborn expansion for Skyrim so I can once again return to Solstheim.
Oh, and a glitch. I remember one time I was playing Skyrim and I was heading up the Throat of the World. Next thing I know, I clip through the floor. I have no idea what's going on but then I notice the world seems to be speeding past me. I look down, realize that I've somehow ended up in the sky, and I'm approaching the ground at a rapid pace. I could only wonder if I somehow hit Sheogorath again.

Man, I've never had to deal with glitches in a TES game. I guess I must be unbelievably lucky or something.
I really, really don't like using companions, either. I stow my housecarls in my house and that's where they stay forever. It'd be heartbreaking to get one of them killed in battle and then they're just GONE FOREVER. So I just wander around the giant landscape alone, waiting for the next NPC I can talk and/or rob to that's not going to attack me on sight.

I was once playing Skyrim and I was trying to get up my magic skills so i kept using magelight on everything. I hit a dragon skeleton and it toppled through a small town. Then I switched to Fireball and got underneath it at a perfect angle (it took me like 20 tries or so to do it again) and it launched so high up in the air that I couldn't see it for awhile... then is it landed and almost killed some people

But remember the world? It was so rich and detailed to anyone that ever bothered to foray into it. The first time I bothered to foray into the world of Morrowind, I was brutally murdered by vampires. I'm still sore about that. But speaking of Morrowind, hoo boy, I sure had one crazy time playing the Dragonborn DLC in Skyrim. I thought everyone hated me in Skyrim itself, but that was nothing like Morrowind. I couldn't walk thirty feet without encountering Ash Spawn or raiders. I think the spawn rate may have been a bit buggy; if not and that was intentional, that's just mean. Really. My favorite DLC will always be Shivering Isles, though. Oblivion was and is and will likely always be my favorite TES game and that DLC played a large part in making it so.

I want to point out that owned horses can influence the power of the Ebony blade. I almost typed Ebpony. God damn it.

I very recently started another play through as a Shield Mage (Shield and Magic), it was very hard at the beginning, but eventually it taught me the best timing for raising the shield. Then I encountered a dragon with only sparks and flames. That wasn't fun.
