The FLARP Zone Murderific Fun! A ChallengeFLARPer!
Do you have what it takes to be a TRUE ADVENTURER?! Do you have the SKILL? The LUCK? The CUNNING? And most importantly, the COURAGE? If you believe yourself to be worthy, then this challenge is for you! Slay the BEHEMOTH, destroy the SWARM, conquer the DUNGEON, and fight your way to VICTORY!
Do you dare ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE?This rp was originally on the MSPA Forums before the shutdown of the RP subforum. It was actually the fourth game of FLARP on that site. I'd post links to the original games, but the MSPAForums are gone. FLARPing Is Dangerous BusinessAs you may know, trolls die in FLARP. A lot. There is absolutely no way to get around that fact. The entire game is practically built around that fact. In order to work with that fact, each FLARP session will run with 6 players at a time, with backup players in a waiting list. This game is set with a very simple character sheet so many people can join. Once your character dies, you can (and are encouraged to) create a new character to be added to the waiting list. ScenariosI'll be attempting a few different scenarios in this game. These are the main ones I'd like to try: BEHEMOTH: The classic scenario. LOCATE and SLAY a powerful beast with only ONE WEAKNESS. Good luck! SWARM: DEFEND you base against 10 waves of BEASTS! IMPROVE your defenses, EXPLOIT the enemy's weaknesses, and DESTROY the leader! DUNGEON: EXPLORE a dangerous dungeon filled with MONSTERS and SWEET LOOT! Defeat the DUNGEON BOSS and make it out alive with the ANCIENT RELIC! Each person who applies can vote on which scenario to play. Whichever one wins will be the first scenario! So far, there's 2 votes for BEHEMOTH and 1 vote for DUNGEON. How Things Get DoneHow this will work is I will post something saying what all current NPC’s are doing, along with any new NPC’s, items, trolls, etc. entering the field. Then, you all post your actions that you are performing. I will roll a simple, six sided die for each action, and the result of the action will go on the following table as so. | 0 | No, And, And
Not only did you not succeed, not only did something else go wrong, but another thing went wrong as well. Good luck surviving that! | | 1 | No, And
Well, you messed up bad. You failed your action, and something else went wrong too. Odds are, you’ll probably die from this. | | 2 | No
No, you didn’t perform that action. | | 3 | No, But
Well, you failed, but not everything went bad. Something positive happened that probably saved your life, and will let you come back twice as hard next turn. | | 4 | Yes, But
You did it, but something went bad along the way. Your teammates probably are glaring at you right now. | | 5 | Yes
Yes, you performed the action. | | 6 | Yes, And
You succeeded, and something else good happened too! Things are looking up for you. | | 7 | Yes, And, And
Yeah, you’ve basically done something so amazing, and then something else amazing, that a third thing just happened because it didn’t want to be left out. |
Now, you may be wondering why 0 and 7 are there, if I’m only rolling a six-sider. Well, every troll has something they’re really good at, or a +BOON. On the flip side, they also have something they’re terrible at, or a -FLAW. Every time an action involves a +BOON, they get a +1 to their roll, and actions involving a -FLAW get a -1 to their roll. Make sure you +BOON and -FLAW can be interpreted as actions. For example, “cannot focus” is a flaw, not a -FLAW. However, “cannot focus, so often misses things” is a -FLAW. Also, try to balance your +BOONS and -FLAWS. Rules[/s] Due to the slowness of the forums, if someone is absent for a week, they will be suspended from the group. They will either be moved to the end of the waiting list and replaced with the next person, or they will just be suspended and no longer in action until they become active again. ApplicationNAME: What is your troll’s name? If you need help, click here. BLOOD: What is your troll’s blood color? Pick from Burgundy to Violet. SPECIBUS: What strife specibus does your troll have? +BOON: What is your troll especially good at? Actions in this category gain a +1 to their roll, allowing them to reach the coveted Yes, And, And rank of success. If your troll is a lowblood, this is pretty much going to be their psychic power, unless it doesn't balance out the flaw. -FLAW: What is your troll especially bad at? Actions in this category take a -1 to their roll, allowing them to end up with the dreaded No, And, And rank of failure. 'TUDE: How does your troll act? No need to get too deep into it, a short paragraph will do. LOOKS: Which basic outfit does your troll have? The outfit you choose adds +BOONS and -FLAWS according to what you pick! Choose one of these four: Casual - Because shorts and a shirt are the best gear to bring to a battle. ( Extra ++BOON and --FLAW boost) Badass - Trenchcoats and sunglasses are probably involved here. (+COMPLETE, -CREEPING) Subtle - For those who don’t want to call attention to themselves. (+CREEPING, -CHARISMA) Fashionable - Now with blood-stain resistant action! (+CHARISMA, -COMPLETE) All trolls start with a basic weapon of their Strifekind and three healing kits. As soon as Gliddo answers Pharva, the party feels a familiar rumble beneath their feet. The group splits under the feet of Akuron and Pharma, and they fall. Akuron "Lie Detector" Raowos has been dropped due to inactivity.

Borean opened his mouth to say something about that horrible flirting attempt but decided it would be best to shut his mouth, he turned around and looked back at the nursery and actually went back towards it and attempted to harvest some slitherbeast venom

Int. Action: Continue forward [ Roll: N/A ] The group continues forward. After a little walking the tunnel ends into another tunnel, running left and right. Int. Action: Return to the nursery [ Roll: 2 ] Instead of moving ahead with the rest of the group, you head back to the nursery to try to loot any corpses. Unfortunately, the light dims as the leyets move away, and you can't see anything. Trying to reach the slitherbeasts, you trip into a nest. Borean "G'day Mate" Amoral has been slain by a slitherbeast hatchling.
