It's interesting, isnt it? But if only we had more info to work on other than just a bit about their hierarchy system and bloodcaste. Here, if you got a canon fact to pop up, or a headcanon you'd love to share, post it here. I might make a nice encyclopedia of troll culture if we have enough info!

I've been curious for the longest time about the fact that the dead rise up every morning on Alternia, and that there are trolls who actively hunt them. Is there a specific caste that deals with this problem, besides Jadebloods? What brings these bodies back to life? Look here if I'm not making sense.

HAHAHA I'MA FRICKIN DOMINATE THIS THREAD!
I'll first address acid's (Ohh, an actual word that you dint have to change! Props to you, sir!)question: The thing about the dead. I'm taking some artistic liberty here, of course. Canonically, Robots probably do it. Nearly EVERY SINGLE culture question can typically be answered with robots/drones. BUT: That's boring as frick, and here is my more head canon-y answer: Alternia Assigned Adults.
AAAs would probably have a minimum hue of Olive/Jade, going to the point where purples can decide weather they want to go off-planet or be an AAA with no questions asked, whereas others would most likely have to show either proficiency in a certain skill, or fill out a form. The higher you position on the Hemospectrum, the more likely it is that your form will be approved, under the assumption that you'll be less likely to bite the hand that has fed you so well, and will be less likely to encourage others to do so, while a Burgundy, Bronze, or Gold blood, well, get enough of them together, and you'll have a moderate sized problem on your hand, and they could incite young low bloods to rebel, and those young low bloods could get their high blooded friends to sympathize with them, and it would be a HUGE MESS. (WHOOPS, I THINK I WENT A BIT TO FAR ON THIS PART!)
I think that dealing with the dead could be a professional job. I think they make troll society a lot crueler than it really is. (In terms of people killing each other, I mean.) So, a band of Adults who are interested in killing the dead would most likely roam around the deserts. If not kept in check these hoards of the dead would most likely be killing Alternia's children, and while Kanaya is accustomed to dealing with them, and most older children most likely are as well, it would be a shame if a freshly set up neighborhood of fresh-out-of-the-caverns-barely-a-sweep-old children all died over the course of one day. In fact, if Kanaya applied to be an AAA on the grounds of being able to promptly deal with hoards of undead, (i'm sure as she got older, she would try and take them on) as well as most likely being able to have Vriska vouch for her, (they used to be moirails, and if Vriska's friend wanted to do a thing, I'm pretty sure she would say 'Yeah, Kanaya is great at 8eating corpses!)
As for what makes them come alive, it's probably the radiation.
Our sun, and every star, and most likely Alternia's sun, is a huge radioactive ball of Gas. Now, If I remember correctly, most of the radiation burns up WAY BEFORE even reaching the first planet in our solar system. But, say, in Alternia, it could be way different. It's the radiation from the sun that makes the dead come to life. Now, you're asking yourself 'but why doesn't every troll die from radiation?'
Easy!
Most likely, there's something that, basically, if it touches the open air, it has SOMETHING in it to be radiation resistant. Who knows, maybe troll skin is infused with lead. (It can also be found in pretty much every living thing on alternia.) It only really gets used early in the night, when the sun's radiation is still fresh in the air. But, after you die, it breaks down. Once it breaks down, the radiation affects your courps, and brings it back to life, but only while the sun is up.

TLDR: Adults stay on Alternia to do certain things, like hunting the undead, and the sun's radiation is what brings them to life.
